Yussuf is currently Climate Finance & Innovation Advisor to the Kenyan Climate Envoy under the Executive of the President. Prior to this he worked as the Chief Innovations Officer for Kenya Power whilst founding a start-up business KOSAP (Kenya Solar Off-grid Access Project) which was subsequently adopted by the World Bank as a flagship project aimed at increasing electrification for the underserved Counties in Kenya. Yussuf was also member of the sustainability team at Kenya Power that produced the company’s first sustainability report as well as spearheading a project to commence the use of drones for substation and network inspection and a business diversification work stream that give birth to the Kenya’s first electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Previously, he worked at the National Bank of Kenya where he held various roles within treasury, finance, and operations. Yussuf holds a bachelor’s degree as well as a master’s degree in finance. He is a member of the Certified Public Accountants of Kenya as well as being a Certified Financial Analyst.
