Finau Soqo

Fiji

Finau is General Manager of the Pacific Resilience Facility (PRF), the first Pacific-led, owned, and managed regional climate and disaster financing facility for communities at the frontline of the climate crisis. The PRF is a Pacific leader-endorsed climate initiative under the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent and is being established by the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, overseen by the Forum Economic Ministers Meeting.

 

Finau was an international banker with ANZ, having worked in Fiji, Australia, and the Philippines where she covered supranationals and the public sector. While in the Philippines she attended the Emerging Leaders Programme at the Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government. She was Country Head for ANZ Kiribati from 2016 to 2019, making her the first Fijian woman to be a Country CEO in the ANZ network. Before joining ANZ, she was Acting Chief Investment Officer and Board Secretary for Fijian Holdings Limited.

 

Finau read Economics at the University of the South Pacific. As a Chevening Scholarship awardee, she obtained a master’s degree in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the International Capital Market Association Centre, which is part of Henley Business School at the University of Reading, UK.
