Hasan Demirhan

Hasan has more than 30 years of financial management experience in the banking sector, including time spent in senior roles at multilateral development banks and international financial institutions.

Most recently, he served as Vice President of Banking at Black Sea Trade and Development Bank, supervising financing operations departments with a strong focus on project financing and integrating ESG considerations throughout project lifecycles. He played a key role in directing finance towards projects in areas such as renewable energy and energy efficiency, sustainable agriculture, and waste management.

Earlier in his career, Hasan held various senior positions at Islamic Development Bank, where he oversaw a large treasury investment portfolio and worked extensively on the issuance of sukuk and securing repo-eligible status for debt instruments with central banks.

Hasan holds a PhD in Finance from Ankara University, an MBA in Banking Administration from the University of Exeter, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Hacettepe University. He is fluent in Turkish, English, and Arabic.
