Urwah is currently affiliated with the Global Development Policy Center at Boston University, where he has showcased his expertise at the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonization (GCMD), where he managed a portfolio of investments which have led to significant maritime decarbonisation. He has worked prior to this at the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, coupled with a tenure at Pakistan's National Logistics Cell, a private sector arm of the Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives. In addition to his current focus on just energy transition, climate finance, and institutional development, Urwah actively contributes as a panel member on Climate and Investment at CFA UK. He also serves as an expert reviewer for the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy and is a member of Think 7, the G7's official policy think tank. Urwah has a Ph.D. from Nagoya University, where he focused on the hydrogen economy, climate change, and decarbonisation of the transport and energy sector as a MEXT scholar.
