BwB joined an insightful conversation on unlocking capital for sustainable infrastructure at the FAST-Infra Label panel session, co-hosted by Bentley Systems and the Global Infrastructure Basel Foundation (GIB), at LCAW2025 last week.
With strong engagement from investors, development finance institutions, and project developers, the session spotlighted why infrastructure is central to climate, nature, and development goals.
Key takeaways from the session included:
Embedding Resilience into Finance
Insurance and digital innovation are critical to embedding resilience into financial instruments and have a key role to play in scaling sustainable infrastructure financing.
Prioritising Emerging Markets
As climate risks and inequality grow, nations across Africa and other emerging markets must become a strong focus for infrastructure investment. BwB’s Africa Capital Hub helps direct capital to where it’s needed most – bridging investment gaps and delivering impact at scale.
Aligning Capital with City Needs
In Europe, innovative solutions can help cities advance their climate-aligned infrastructure ambitions. The Climate City Capital Hub, part of the NetZeroCitiesEU project, is providing cities with tailored support to turn climate plans into investable, high-impact projects through cross-sector collaboration and a neutral capital sourcing model.
Delphine Queniart, BwB Managing Director and Head of Institutional Clients, commented: “We agreed in the session that we have all the tools in place – it’s time for leading actors in this space to roll up our collective sleeves and accelerate efforts to turn promising financial instruments into tangible infrastructure investments.”
