BwB Executive Director, Christine Zhou, joined an expert workshop hosted by Prospex Institute vzw as part of the SUPERB project, an EU Horizon 2020 initiative working to develop systemic solutions that scale up the urgently needed restoration of forest-related biodiversity and ecosystem services.
The session brought together experts from finance, science, policy, academia, and forestry sectors to explore how to fund and scale forest restoration across Europe, with insights shared directly from a live restoration site at Queen Elizabeth Forest Park in the Scottish Highlands.
“There were lively conversations around the evolution of nature markets – from the need for scientifically robust yet market-friendly monitoring metrics, to enabling mechanisms that can de-risk forest investments,” Christine shared. “Bringing together multidisciplinary perspectives is critical to shaping practical and scalable solutions.”
Many thanks to Prospex Institute vzw and the SUPERB project team for a fruitful and informative session.
