Building Green Finance Capacity In Zambia

ree

BwB is proud to support UNDP Zambia and the Green Finance Mainstreaming Working Group in strengthening Zambia’s green bond market, a vital step towards unlocking sustainable finance for climate and nature. This timely workshop brought together institutional investors, regulators, intermediaries, and issuers to sharpen technical knowledge and explore how green bonds can catalyse investment in biodiversity, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture. “Credible, inclusive green finance starts with building alignment among key players such as regulators, issuers, investors, and market participants by bringing them together in the same room to develop a common understanding,” said Heather Matson, BwB Managing Director. “Zambia’s commitment to developing a robust green bond market is more than encouraging – it’s essential. Establishing strong technical foundations today will help channel more capital into nature-positive investments tomorrow.”  A huge thank you to the organisers, speakers, and participants for driving forward such an important initiative.
