Scaling Marine & Blue Nature-Based Solutions: A Collaborative Approach
A few days ago, BwB’s managing director Heather Matson attended the BlueNBSEvent, hosted by UNESCO, as part of the closing events of the MaCoBioS Project.
The event brought together representatives from the scientific, policy, and governance communities to explore best practices for scaling Marine and Blue Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). These discussions are crucial as we collectively address the challenges of climate and biodiversity crises.
“One of the key takeaways was the immense role finance can play in scaling NBS. The financing gap for nature mirrors that of climate—vast and urgent. Bridging this gap will require partnerships that bring together Finance, Government, Scientific Entities and the Civil Society” commented Heather.
A heartfelt thank you to the organizing and contributing teams, including DesirMED, MaCoBioS, CMCC Foundation - Centro Euro Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici, University of Portsmouth, and the Institut océanographique Paul Ricard, for their dedication to advancing solutions for our planet.
