BwB’s Associate Renata Haseth and BwB Vice President Ryan McManus joined up with Net Zero Cities partners and over 20 European cities in Stockholm last week as part of the NetZeroCitiesEU Seasonal School series. Over the course of three days, cities participated in a variety of learning sessions including how best to engage local stakeholders in the climate transition, methods of accounting for GHG emissions and how to develop an investment plan for financing climate actions. Additionally, cities were given the space to reflect on their decarbonisation journeys so far and interact with each other to foster new ideas and collaboration. BwB’s Ryan McManus said of the event “It was a pleasure to join forces with the wider Net Zero Cities partners to deliver this learning opportunity to so many cities. Our workshops on investment planning for financing climate actions were well-attended and it was a great experience answering so many though-provoking questions from cities in the audience. Outside of the learning sessions we were inspired by the conversations we had, listening to exciting stories about each cities’ journey to Net Zero so far.” A special thanks to Viable Cities and KTH Royal Institute of Technology for hosting the event, and both Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Politecnico di Milano for their organisational support.
