BwB was delighted to join Finnish Mission Label cities for the biannual gathering hosted by VTT, Finland’s Government Research Institute, last month. Discussions at the event underscored a growing maturity in how Finnish cities are translating climate targets into structured project pipelines. Across energy, mobility, buildings, and systems integration, Finnish cities are aligning governance, data, and investment planning in ways that make the 2030 climate-neutrality objective credible and investable. “Finland’s Mission Label cities are an example of what becomes possible when public leadership, technical expertise, and long-term capital are brought into the same room at an early stage. As Europe moves from climate ambition to deployment, the question for investors is no longer if cities will deliver, but where capital can move with confidence and at scale," comments Joakim Holmström, City Finance Specialist for Finland and BwB Vice President. The Climate City Capital Hub, led by BwB and its NetZeroCitiesEU consortium partners, is currently discussing a variety of future assignments with Mission Label cities in Finland. If you are exploring investment opportunities aligned with the needs of Europe’s climate-neutral cities, please reach out to the Capital Hub team.
