The Financial Times recently highlighted the InnovateUkraine programme in a powerful reminder that rebuilding Ukraine is not just about reconstructing what has been damaged or lost – it is also about improving resilience and laying the foundations for a future-ready economy. Innovation plays a critical role in these efforts, including through enabling new energy technologies that support the development of a more adaptable, decentralised system that can reduce vulnerability. BwB is a proud partner of InnovateUkraine, a UK-funded initiative that nurtures collaborations between UK and Ukrainian innovators to develop sustainable, low-carbon technologies that strengthen resilience and energy independence. “InnovateUkraine endeavours to help ambitious and high-impact projects access the funding and infrastructure they require to advance their technological, commercial, and financial development,” says Christine Zhou, Executive Director at BwB. “This gives potentially transformative solutions a greater likelihood of successful deployment in the field, contributing to energy innovation in Ukraine and more broadly in the UK and across Europe.” As the FT article discusses, programmes such as InnovateUkraine are helping ensure Ukraine’s recovery is competitive, decentralised, and climate-aligned.
