Innovation Spotlight | BwB Adaptation Centre of Excellence

Action on climate adaptation is critical but underfunded. Financing for nature-based solutions (NbS), adaptation planning, and resilience strategies currently falls far short of what is needed. BwB’s Adaptation Centre of Excellence was launched to address this challenge. Its mission is to mobilise private capital for adaptation, scale investment using innovative financial structures, and support communities across Europe as they build resilience to climate risks. From restoring landscapes and safeguarding water systems to climate-proofing infrastructure and urban planning, the Centre brings together investors, governments, and local partners to close the adaptation finance gap with solutions that deliver both positive environmental impact and community benefits.
