We are excited to kick off 'Bankable Neighbourhood Portfolios for Energy Renovation (BanPER)’ as part of the EU-funded LIFE-CET-PRIVAFIN-2023 project cohort, working closely with our partners Ville de Marseille, MODUS AEDIFICANDI, Adaltys, AEIDL (European Association for Innovation in Local Development), and València Clima i Energia.
The built environment is responsible for about 40% of Europe's carbon emissions, making this a crucial area for action if the region is to meet its climate goals. BanPER aims to be part of the solution by accelerating the rollout of energy efficiency renovations in privately owned residential homes through the implementation of an innovative portfolio approach, underpinned by blended finance.
“BanPER takes a holistic approach to tackling energy renovations, aiming to mobilise and engage the financial sector, as well as develop technical solutions and engage core stakeholders within the community,” commented BwB Executive Director Christine Zhou. “We are pleased to be launching this initiative to innovate solutions for this sector, which typically represents a significant challenge for local governments across geographies.”
