BwB is delighted to have been part of the ‘Access to Funding: Practical Tools for Urban Change’ event hosted by the European Urban Initiative in Rotterdam.
The conference brought together cities, experts, and institutions to explore how blended finance and innovative tools can mobilise funding for sustainable urban development.
Highlights included:
Inspiring presentations from the City of Brussels, the Bulgarian Sustainable Cities Fund, and others, on advancing urban sustainability.
Contributions from the European Investment Bank, the European Commission, and Philea, fostering rich discussions on public and private funding collaboration.
A walking tour of Rotterdam’s extensive green roofs - a model for nature-based urban solutions. “Cities are at the forefront of climate and social innovation, but unlocking private finance is key to scaling impact,” commented Renata Haseth, VP at BwB, who shared practical strategies for engaging private finance with event attendees. “It’s been fantastic to speak with Mission and Mission-minded Cities about their involvement with the Capital Hub and how it can support their climate activities. It was inspiring to learn about all the great initiatives happening across cities and the positive changes they are driving.” A huge thank you to the organisers and all participating cities for creating such a valuable forum for exchange.
