
Dr. Mahmoud Mohieldin has more than 30 years of experience in international finance and development. He currently serves as the United Nations Special Envoy on Financing the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. Recently, he served as the United Nations High-Level Climate Champion for Egypt, and as Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund representing the Arab States and The Maldives. Previously, Dr. Mohieldin was the Minister of Investment of Egypt from 2004-2010, and afterwards served as the The World Bank Group Senior Vice President for the 2030 Development Agenda, United Nations Relations and Partnerships.
The Africa Capital Hub is BwB’s innovative response to the challenge of mobilising capital for high-impact environmental and social projects in Africa, developed in collaboration with the Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) and the UBS Optimus Foundation.
Dr. Mohieldin’s leadership will help steer the ACH’s mission to mobilise US$1 billion in private, public, and philanthropic capital by 2030 to bridge funding gaps for SDG-aligned initiatives across the continent. Under his guidance, the ACH will catalyse transformative change and sustainable solutions that support Africa’s long-term development goals.
