BwB is a proud partner of the CirCoFin project, an EU-funded initiative working to accelerate circular transformation in the construction sector.
The CirCoFin consortium is working with four regions to develop Circular Construction Hubs (CCHs), combining physical material banks with digital systems to support the reuse of building materials.
The consortium gathered in Copenhagen last month, one of the sites we are showcasing, to take stock of the completion of feasibility studies for each of our four pilot areas. Focus is now turning to next steps: project appraisal through a stakeholder engagement process and development of a bankable investment case.
BwB Executive Director, Christine Zhou, delivered a workshop on developing the financial case and preparing for due diligence. "As our pilot cities and regions take this next step, we're focused on developing capacity around financing pathways and methodologies to prepare for due diligence", she said. "The level of innovation in the CCH models requires thoughtful analysis regarding where the value streams arise and, in turn, who the potential financiers could be - particularly while these models remain nascent."
We are looking to engage investors and stakeholders working in this space. Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you would like to discuss CirCoFin or the broader circular economy sector.
