A big thank you to the organisers of the SmartCitiesWorld Summit at London Climate Action Week and to our fellow panellists Mary Kerr CMgr MCMI (Glasgow City Council), Eileen Higgins (City of Miami), Benjamin Yeoh (RBC Global Asset Management), Caroline Haas (NatWest Commercial and Institutional), and Sam Markey (Recurve) for an insightful discussion on ‘Portfolio Financing for Climate Action: Building Investable Pipelines Across Sectors’.
From Miami's resilience financing toolkit (Disaster Resilience Fund, Resilience Trust Fund, Miami Forever Bond) to Glasgow's emerging climate investment vehicles and the Climate City Capital Hub, the message was clear: the gap isn't capital, it's investable pipeline. Cities need more investable projects.
“Ambition becomes action through adequate project preparation, shared learning with an investment lens, and bridging what cities, investors, and philanthropies expect from each other. This event showed that the City Climate Capital Hub’s approach isn’t just a theory. It's the way forward," says Delphine Queniart, Global Head of Climate Infrastructure and Capital Advisory at BwB.
