BwB at Future-Fit-Cities 2023 Batumi, Georgia

One of the main challenge cities face to reach Net Zero is identifying suitable funding and financing sources and solutions to reach climate neutrality.

BwB’s Managing Director, Asen Charliyski, spoke at the "Financial opportunities for cities: Blending finance and closing the gap for urban transformation" panel during the FUTURE-FIT-CITIES 2023 forum in Batumi, Georgia, organised by UNDP where he shared his knowledge and experience of BwB’s work to support the urban transition towards climate neutrality.

The Urban Forum, Future-Fit Cities, aims to address the current global situation and chart a path forward for building resilience and promoting sustainable growth in the face of crises. This includes addressing challenges related to leadership, finance, and pursuing a just, green transition. It is dedicated to fostering knowledge exchange on urban transformation and strengthening connections among the M4EG networks of municipalities and stakeholders across the Eastern Partnership, European Union, and Eastern Europe and Central Asia regions.

“It was my pleasure to share BwB's experience of supporting deployment of capital in the urban environment and in particular on climate investment planning and investor facilitation. Very positive engagement with several cities to help them advance in their urban transition journey.”, commented Asen.
