About the event

Bankers without Boundaries (BwB, https://www.bwb.earth/) is hosting the next event in its Investor Roundtable Series in Delhi, India, in collaboration with Basic Roots Consulting (https://www.basicroots.in/). This is part of a series of roundtables that bring together key actors from the public and private sector investment communities to discuss how innovative financing can help accelerate sustainable development. Previous events this year have been hosted in Davos, Nairobi, Washington DC, New York, and London.

We invite you to join the first roundtable discussion in BwB’s Asia series, focusing on Innovative Approaches to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in India. This event will bring together a select cohort of representatives from the investment landscape, including foundations, development finance institutions, and limited partners.

Objectives

Network with peers from various financial institutions to explore potential synergies, partnerships, and shared investment opportunities within the sustainable development landscape.

• Explore innovative financing mechanisms to support India’s capital markets development, such as green bonds, blended credit structures that include carbon, nature, and social elements, and multi-currency trading platforms for sustainable securities.

• Examine the effectiveness of blended finance solutions, capital allocation strategies, and flexible investment approaches in bridging the gap between grants and loans.

• Discover and discuss cutting-edge approaches to funding sustainable development projects in India to unlock private capital to achieve SDG goals, including the potential for gender lens financing, accelerator programmes,  nature as an asset class, development impact bonds (for education and healthcare), and the potential for establishing a Sovereign Wealth Fund.

About Bankers Without Boundaries (BwB)

Bankers Without Boundaries, an innovator in global finance, is an investment banking, asset management, and advisory firm dedicated to delivering value to clients while benefiting the environment and society. BwB applies its financial expertise to align projects with capital markets and serves the financial needs of governments, institutional clients, corporations, high-net-worth individuals, cities, and foundations worldwide.

BwB currently works with over 120 cities and more than 20 sovereign governments. BwB is the lead financial partner in the EU’s 100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities Mission, working with each city to craft an investment plan to integrate with their climate action plans for urban decarbonisation and economic transformation. As part of this, BwB recently launched the Climate City Capital Hub, a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at bridging the EUR650b funding gap required by the cities to achieve net zero by 2030. In addition, BwB works with governments to pioneer innovative financing mechanisms to reach sovereign SDG goals, including executing on thematic debt issuances across Asia. Guided by deep local market insights, bolstered by a network of global experts, and in collaboration with key partners such as the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Asian Development Bank (ADB), BwB works to connect investors with impactful, financially viable opportunities on a global scale.  Recent highlights include the Tiger Landscapes Investment Fund with UNDP, launching Uzbekistan’s first SDG bond, and shaping Mongolia’s Green Financing Framework as part of its first SDG bond.
