Reginald Asare

Ghana

Reginald has more than 20 years of public and private sector finance experience working at the nexus of Project Finance, Environmental Sustainability, Agricultural Value Chain and Social Inclusion. Reginald currently leads the Sustainable Finance/ESG team at the National Investment Bank, Ghana.  Prior to this, Reginald led various donor funded Agro Value Chain finance & enterprise development projects of the Bank that promoted the growth of rural SME’s, financial inclusion, gender equity and environmental sustainability jointly funded by Agence Française de Développement (AFD), KfW Development Bank and Government of Ghana.


Reginald previously worked with Ghana’s Forestry Commission on multiple natural capital related donor funded development programs. These projects led to the restoration of degraded forest landscapes by embedding Green Infrastructure and Nature-Based solutions for ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, food security and climate change mitigation and adaptation, which were variously funded by World Bank, AfDB, Netherlands Government, JICA etc.


Reginald holds two master’s degrees: Master of Business Administration with finance concentration and Master of Science in Agroforestry. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management.  Reginald also has professional certifications in Project Finance, Sustainability/ ESG and climate change related courses.
